Briefing
FrieslandCampina required a new warehouse to consolidate multiple warehouses in use. The site should ideally be located in the North of the Netherlands to centralize the outbound flows of the manufacturing plants in Beilen and Meppel. The request was to develop a warehouse in line with the highest quality standards or food logistics.
Solution
We developed a logistics centre with 600 m² of office space and 31.000 m² warehouse designed for logistics efficiency and food safety (HACCP). The site has an expedition area fitted out with 25 external docks and 3 automatic loading docks. The logistics centre also has 10 separated storage compartments and 1 temperature controlled unit to store product in a controlled environment.
Result
A mission-critical logistics centre according to the highest food safety standards. A prestigious development in Meppel and a build to suit facility for FrieslandCampina with future-use flexibility. A logistics centre that contributes to further optimization of the logistics efficiency and global supply chain of FrieslandCampina.
