With every building we develop, sustainability is an important theme. We want to ensure that a building is future-proof, which means that it must be able to last for at least 50 years.
We support sustainability, so we support:
– Energy transition
– Integration in landscape
– Futureproof design
– Brown to Green
– Sustainable development
– Well-being
We have already proudly completed large sustainable projects and we will be adding many more beautiful buildings that score high on sustainability.
We are very proud that we created the most powerful solar roof in the Netherlands in Venlo. In 2019 – at that time even the largest project in Europe -this revolutionary project was developed for Lidl.
Since 2019, we have completed even more sustainable projects with solar panels, in addition, there is still a lot in the pipeline.
Five successful projects have already been realized, with a total capacity of 25 MWp. Add that to the 35 MWp still under development, and it is immediately clear that Next Level is progressive in the field of solar panels and sustainable solutions.
Integrating landscape considerations into area development is very important.
Area development and landscape architecture go very closely together, including in the area of sustainability. Green energy, water management and biodiversity conservation are addressed, as well as promoting the circular economy and sustainable land use.
Not only the building itself, but also the environment plays a role when it comes to sustainability.
An environment in which plants and animals live is a green and healthy work environment for employees. A building can blend into a landscape or complement it.
A building delivered today must still be relevant decades later. That’s why we make clear choices for today whilst anticipating future developments. Every logistics building we deliver is totally sustainable, with car charging posts, solar panel infrastructure and high insulation values as standard, so it becomes a life-time performing building. A well-conceived energy concept is also part of the design and we make maximum use of daylight on the work floor, for example.
Moreover, each building is easily adaptable, making it easy for us to make sustainable choices where needed.
At Next Level we are also working hard on Brown to Green Developments. We like to buy old, non-sustainable buildings to develop a sustainable future proof building at the same location.
In this way we ensure that polluting old buildings disappear and make way for future-proof buildings where people can enjoy working for years to come.
We are driven to locate the best site, imposing no restrictions on ourselves. That means we not only look at available greenfields, we also invest in suitable brownfield locations. A circular approach, in which we manage the investment and redevelopment whilst you benefit from the location’s added value.

One of our most important development standards in sustainability is a BREEAM-score of minimum 3/5, which means ‘very good’. We always search for the best possible and most suitable solutions for your business, and always have the goal of a minimum BREEAM ‘very good’.
We approach this as one of the basic conditions for future proof design, so we can provide an avarage lifespan of > 50 years for your logistics property.
Well-being is a non-obvious but equally important issue when it comes to sustainability. Not only the building should last for as many years as possible, the employees and users should be as well.
Enough daylight, and green surroundings are very important for a healthy work environment, and so they are important to us. Happy and healthy people make a healthy business.
